Application Error Message

Follow

A Data Validation Error Message tells you how many fields or sections still require your attention in order for you to continue with your form.

An example of an error message, a white box with a red title reading Fields were Missing or Need Correction on the left and a red x button on the right. Below that additional instructional text reads, the data you just supplied contains 1 omission or dataype mismatch. This problem will have an explanation below it. Some fields are required by the institution to have a value. Other fields need the data to satisfy length limitations or certain formatting constraints. Below that in the bottom right of the box is a dark blue button that reads I understand.

  • You may receive this error because you missed a field or answered a question using a format that is not accepted.
    • After seeing this message, please scroll down the error page carefully and look for any fields that are either highlighted with a bordered box or indicated by a message such as, “This is a required field."
  • If there is an issue with an answer you provided, such as it exceeding the allowed character limit or including an invalid character, you'll see an explanation of the issue next to the field instead.
    • Follow the explanation's instructions to correct the issue before submitting again.

If you don't see an error in your form after scrolling through the page notifying you of a Data Validation or you have technical questions about the nature of the error you are encountering, please click the Submit a Request button on the top right with any details of the error that you can provide.
